I've been on at least ten canoe trips from Escatawpa Hollow in the last 20 years. I'm a high school teacher and many of my trips have been with fifteen or more students. Larry and Janice are wonderful people and they run a top notch facility. We've ALWAYS had a great time. I'll miss them when they retire.

You couldn't find a more friendly, compassionate, peaceful man than the owner of this campground. We spent 2 nights traveling. Well worth the money, amenities. We would absolutely do this unique, lovely place again. We like family atmosphere, quiet and safe. This owner prvoided thus and much more. Thank you for much for our stay!

I would rate this -10 if possible. These people discriminate against disabled. Yes it is beautiful and well kept. But I am a disabled person who requires a service animal with me at all times, just as one would oxygen tank or a wheel chair. I also live local and heard the owners were not always the nicest people around. So not long alfer the after being hospitalized I really wanted to go and enjoy some nature. I called ahead to speak to them about my dog and after asking if this would be a problem was told yes, they were only allowed in camping areas. I informed them that that was a federal offense and left them open to a law suit. Service dogs, by federal law are allowed ANYWHERE that the public is allowed, no exceptions. But I was not allowed to explain this, as they promptly hung up on. I called back and was sent to an answering machine. They had better learn the law.

Larryand Janice are awesome people and they run a awesome place.we stayed here for over two weeks and absolutely loved it!!!so peaceful and serene.campground is very clean and run effectively .

The campground was nice. The campsites sit along the water on a bluff. They do not offer much privacy. There is some brush and small trees but they are rather close to one another and you can easily see into the other sites (which was ok, just not as I pictured). The bathrooms and grounds were neat and clean. If that were it, I would say it is a good place. However, Mr. Godfrey is the most deliberately rude individual I have ever stood face to face with. He is belittling, angry and dismissive. I was so excited to come to this campground because I spent much time there many years ago. I will never ever go back. I really like nice people. He was beyond a grumpy man. (Btw, his wife was VERY nice but she could not make up for the black cloud over this campground).
